The journey, the science, the struggle, the heart.
To this day, I am awestruck by babies and the transformation to parenthood. My interest began when I was pregnant with my first child. Loading up on information was one of my ways of preparing to open a new chapter in life. What I wasn't expecting was to also find it incredibly rich, raw, and fascinating.
My career as a birth professional began in 2009. I trained as a birth doula with Carrie Kenner of Big Belly Services. I went on to provide doula support for women birthing in hospitals, birth centers and at home.
On my path to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I earned the credentials of Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through Childbirth International (CBI) and volunteered with mother-to-mother breastfeeding support groups. I love working in private practice and serve the most wonderful families!
Outside of work, I am mom to two spunky boys (who keep me on my toes). My husband and I are fueled by a bit of a twisted sense of humor and strong coffee. I play flute with Northwest Symphony Orchestra and with a wonderful flute ensemble, Tutti Flutti.
